About Team 23

Taojin Peng

Greetings, this is Taojin majoring in bioengineering: biotechnology. I am currently working in Dr. Zhong Sheng's lab focusing on spatial multi-omics analysis in Alzheimer's Disease human and mice brain samples.

Throughout this project, I completed the transcriptomic analysis, presentation preparation, 3D displaying model creation, and this website!

My favorite part of this project was the opportunity to work with my best friend Zhixuan and contribute to the research in Alzheimer's Disease.

In the free time, I enjoy trying new bars, brewing tea, exploring jazz music, traveling with my friends, and 3D printing little useless gadgets.

Zhixuan Song

Hi there! I'm Zhixuan, a senior biotechnology major student at UCSD and the proud “mom” of our brain organoid family.

In this project, I am responsible for brain organoids' development and maintenance as well as immunoassays on the organoid samples.

Together with Taojin, I'm raising the first generation of APOE genotype-specific brain organoid models. Tiny brains, big ambitions😜
